Dr Olawuyi G. Michael is a dynamic Medical doctor who obtained his Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery degree from the first private medical school in Nigeria- Igbinedion University Okada. Thereafter, he proceeded to University College Hospital Ibadan for the compulsory one year internship.
Having completed his one year internship at the University College Hospital, Ibadan; he was posted to General Hospital Gwantu, Kaduna for the NYSC Scheme. Aside performing his duties as a Medical Doctor, Dr Olawuyi acquired in depth experience in hospital administration and management during this period being the only doctor posted to the Hospital. Thereafter, he worked as medical officer with Lifeline Children’s Hospital Lekki.
To widen his horizon in Health Management, He proceeded to the United Kingdom to obtain a Masters degree in International Health and Management at the renowned University of Aberdeen, Scotland. In the course of this programme Dr Olawuyi obtained adequate knowledge in areas: Healthcare Financing in developing/ developed countries; Organisation of Health Systems around the world; Health Economics, Risk Management as well as Human Resource Management with regards to health workers.
Dr Olawuyi is happy to be a Zonal Medical Manager (South West) with the foremost Health Maintenance Organisation in Nigeria- Mediplan Healthcare Limited where customer satisfaction and quality is given the utmost priority. He hopes to contribute to improving the Nigerian health system whilst working with Mediplan Healthcare Limited.
